Catalytic grantmaking

Through grants, we help nonprofit organizations improve success for students and workers, especially those facing the greatest obstacles.
We provide grants to nonprofit organizations, postsecondary education providers, and workforce and skills-based educators to help make education-to-employment pathways more accessible and affordable.
Where we focus
We focus on improving both education and employment systems so learners realize the economic value of their education and employers have the talent and skills they need to meet the demands of the labor market. We award grants that:
- Elevate scalable approaches to career coaching and work-based learning.
- Strengthen state data systems that enable students to make informed choices about where and what to study.
- Facilitate engagement with employers and intermediaries to ensure alignment with education providers.
- Bring stakeholders to the table to make postsecondary education more affordable.
Strada’s grant partners
We provide grants to nonprofit organizations and postsecondary education providers that are developing innovative solutions to help learners and workers overcome systemic barriers and achieve success.

Clear Outcomes
Strada’s Clear Outcomes team has partnered with the Postsecondary Employment Outcomes Coalition to engage state postsecondary and longitudinal data system leaders in identifying state-specific priority areas for improvement in alignment with the Clear Outcomes Elements of the State Opportunity Index.

Quality Coaching
In partnership with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, Strada awarded eight Innovation in Career Services grants to institutions focused on career advising and guidance. The institutions selected for the Innovation in Career Services grant program received $300,000 each to design, implement, and evaluate innovative approaches to career services that are aligned with the principles for education-to-career guidance.

Affordability
Hundreds of institutions have come together to make the financial aid process easier by providing simple and clear pricing and financial aid information to students and families as part of the College Cost Transparency Initiative, in which participating postsecondary institutions adopt common terminology and standards for their financial aid offers.

Work-Based Learning
Through intentionally designed mentorship, student reflections, peer feedback, and educational programming, Arizona State University’s Work+ program supplements existing student employment opportunities to help working learners develop their sense of identity, agency, and purpose, as well as to enhance workforce preparedness.

Employer Alignment
The National Talent Collaborative’s Accelerator Group for Skills Based Pathways to Mid-Wage Jobs will focus on accelerating the achievement of each region's stretch objectives for expanding pathways to mid-wage jobs, distill and share lessons about effective approaches and scalable solutions for adoption in other regions, and identify the key areas in need of intervention.
Our partners
We engage education providers, employers, and a variety of collaborators, including funders and state, regional, and national organizations. Working alongside our partners, we are aiming for a triple win: better results for learners, more agile education and workforce systems, and stronger, more resilient economies.

Employer and Community College Partnership Challenge
These grants support partnerships that meet regional workforce needs, boost employment and earnings for students, and drive enrollment for community colleges. This grantmaking initiative builds on existing efforts to better connect education and opportunity by providing new resources and opportunities, including financial assistance, paid internships and apprenticeships, and support for supplies and curriculum.
